Why Hemp Seeds are Fucking Awesome

I was first introduced to hemp seeds in high school, I went through a brief period of vegetarianism and hemp seeds were introduced to me as a protein source. Little did I know that hemp seeds have more benefits than just being a protein source. My love for hemp seeds continues to grow and I pretty much throw it on anything and everything.

Inflammation

Inflammation seems to be the it word in the health industry. If you’re looking for another anti-inflammatory food to add into your diet then look no further. Hemp seeds have been known to help people with:

  • Arthritis
  • PMS Symptoms
  • Skin Allergies
  • Multiple Sclerosis

Hemp seeds contain both omega 3 & 6 which is why it helps reduce inflammation in the body.

Amino Acids

Hemp contains all 10 essential amino acids, this is especially important for Vegetarians and Vegans because most plant sources don’t contain all the essential amino acids.

Keeps You Regular

Hemp seeds can keep you regular because they are loaded with fibre. I have found that hemp seeds don’t generally make people gassy like flax seeds do so that’s a major bonus.

Weight Loss

The fibre found in hemp helps people feel fuller longer and can curb cravings. Adding hemp seeds to your meals or even just one meal a day can assist in satiety. Hemp seeds go great with everything (at least I think so), most people use hemp seeds in oatmeal, smoothies, yogourt, nut butters, salads, the list is pretty much endless.
